Ministries
Here are several of our ministries that you can get involved in. Included are a short synopsis of the team’s purpose and a contact person to get involved. Please join in reaching the campus of Wright State with the Gospel!
“I do all things for the sake of the gospel, so that I may become a fellow partaker of it.”
The Apostle Paul
Real Life
Real Life is a weekly meeting of Campus Crusade for Christ. Real Life serves as our primary outreach, and it accomplishes this through speakers, testimonies, music, humor, skits, announcements, and/or a variety of other aspects. There are many aspects to the Real Life team: the team leader, worship leader, and emcee are a few of the them. This team is currently being led by Pat Poteet and Katie Klinsing.
Real Life meets at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Medical Sciences Auditorium and is followed by a social event.
The Real Life team oversees several other teams:
Worship Band
The worship band exists to provide a soundtrack and an environment in which students can worship the Lord through music. The band seeks to model and demonstrate genuine, authentic worship in order to provide an example for believers. Members of the worship band serve God through skillful musicianship and prayer, challenging believers to a deeper discipleship with the Lord. This team is currently led by Daniel Boyer.
Welcoming Team
The purpose of the welcoming team is to help greet visitors and returning students at our weekly meetings. The welcoming team organizes handouts, free give-away items, and seeks to demonstrate Christ-like love in welcoming students to Real Life.
Media Team
The media team is responsible for all of the audio/visual and media components of our weekly meeting. The media team ensures that there are PowerPoint slides for upcoming events, worship songs, and other announcements. They also develop videos and assist the worship band with the audio system at Real Life. This team is currently being led by Anna Talbert.
Events
Our events teams exist to organize and promote some of the principle activities of Campus Crusade for Christ for outreach, fellowship, and discipleship.
Outreach
The Outreach team exists to promote and lead students in sharing the gospel on campus. The leaders organize large outreaches and take students out individually to teach them about communicating the good news of Jesus. This team is currently being led by Heidi Clinger.
Trips
The trips team is responsible for organizing and promoting the major trips and events hosted by Campus Crusade for Christ throughout the year. They work closely with the Shepherd team and the Advertising team to encourage students to come to Fall Retreat, Christmas Conference, Spring Break, and Summer Project, as well as various Leadership retreats and outings. This team is currently led by Lanie Smart.
Socials
The socials team creates environments in which the body of Christ can come together and fellowship in a Christ-like, loving, fun, and uplifting environment. They plan the weekly socials after Real Life as well as weekend outings. This team is currently being led by Anna Talbert.
Bible Studies
Campus Crusade for Christ offers Bible Studies every quarter. There are different studies for men and women, though we have occasional co-ed Bible Studies as well. Our Bible studies are intended to provide a context for students to learn how to study the Bible and deepen their relationship with God. This small group setting also lends itself to forming discipleship and accountability relationships. More information about Bible Studies, including times and locations, is available on our Bible study page.
Advertising
The Advertising team exists to let every student know of the opportunities where the gospel is shared by way of flyers, banners, sidewalk chalking, word of mouth, and any other means necessary. This team is currently being led by Amber Waugh and Kristin Chappell.
Prayer
The primary goal of this ministry is to simply commune with our Father and build a firmer friendship, relationship, and partnership with Him so we’ll think more like Him, act like Him, and be more sensitive to His leading. This team is currently being led by Brooke Rinderle.
Bridges International
Bridges recognizes that the command of God to bless all the nations (Gen 12:1-3; Psalms 67) encompasses reaching all peoples with the Gospel, and we henceforth strive to reach all peoples on our campus with the Gospel. Bridges utilizes Bible studies, social events, outreaches, and a conversation partner program among other means to convey the Gospel to international students.
The task also includes mobilization (Rom 10:14). International ministry has various and specific challenges. Bridges International serves as a resource to aid other students, both native and international, to more effectively share the Gospel to all the nations (Mat 28:19; Acts 1:8; Rom 15:20; Rev 7:9). We look forward to the return of our Lord while recognizing that His return will not happen until all the peoples have heard the good news (Mat 24:14), because God ordained that, “My name will be great among the nations” (Mal 1:11).

Shepherds
The Shepherd team are the student leaders for the movement. This team is in place to provide spiritual and technical oversight to the entire movement, and to ensure that all aspects of the ministry (Bible studies, outreaches, socials) are in line with the Word of God and the purpose, mission, and vision of Campus Crusade for Christ. The Shepherd team manage the various team leaders and promote discipleship. This team is currently being led by Jon Esala.
Campus Ministry Staff
Our staff are based at Miami University in Oxford, OH. They communicate with our leaders and provide discipleship and access to various resources. They also spend time each Wednesday on Campus to coach and model discipleship and evangelism. They ensure that our distinctives, mission, and goals are clear and held before us as a movement. The staff also help plan and strategize getting the gospel to all of Wright State. This team is currently being led by Ryan Elliott.
